YEAR 1 TRIP TO THE LIBRARY

Year 1 had a great start to the half term as they headed down the road to Winton Library for a visit. Over the next few weeks we will be reading lots of books by the author Julia Donaldson and we were hoping to find some of them there.

Rosie the librarian welcomed us in and talked to us about the different types of book we could choose, she also showed us where the 'children's' section was. The children listened carefully and joined in with the story 'What the Ladybird Heard', clearly a favourite for many. We then had the opportunity to decorate our own bookmarks before choosing some books to look at. The children were excited to share books with their friends before walking back to school. Many thanks to our team of amazing volunteers without whom the visit would not have been possible. Our thanks also to the staff of Winton Library who were so welcoming.
